The Technology and Property Management contributes to making Halmstad an attractive city to live and visit. We develop, build, and manage the municipality's public environments such as streets, squares, parks, forests, natural areas, and municipal premises. We are also responsible for event coordination and sports and leisure activities to promote public health by collaborating with and supporting associations.

Halmstad Arena's swimming operations consist of 18 dedicated lifeguards who work together to ensure safe swimming opportunities and provide good service to our guests while promoting swimming skills among our residents. For the summer season of 2025, we are looking for lifeguards for our operations at the Brottet swimming stadium, Getingebadet, Furulundsbadet, Halmstad Arena Bad, and accessible swimming at Gröningen and Svärjarehålan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want a summer job where you can combine sun, water, and community with an important and responsible task? Then this could be the summer job for you!

As a lifeguard with us, you will work at one of the municipality's outdoor swimming pools, and your main tasks will be to provide service and create a welcoming environment and safe experience in and around our pools. This means monitoring safety in and around the swimming area by informing about swimming rules and maintaining order. The role also includes assisting those in distress and, if necessary, performing life-saving measures while waiting for emergency services.

Light cleaning and maintenance of facilities and toilets are also part of the job.

Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts as well as every other weekend.

To be considered for employment, you must complete a swimming and diving test (regardless of prior knowledge).

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed or is currently pursuing a high school education, must be at least 18 years old, and be able to swim backstroke and breaststroke, perform towing, and dive down to 3.80 m in a deep pool. Good knowledge of the Swedish language and basic knowledge of English are also requirements for the position. If you have knowledge of additional languages, we consider that an advantage.

It is also desirable if you have work experience in service or a similar role, as well as training in first aid, CPR, or if you have training according to the Swedish Lifesaving Society's pool lifeguard certification. A driver's license (B) is desirable as you may need to travel to different swimming locations for work.

As you will be interacting with our guests, you need to be service-oriented and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. Following rules and procedures is also a given for you. Since the work is done in a team, we also see that you need to have good collaboration skills and be able to build good relationships easily.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Before employment, you need to demonstrate that you have the right to work, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate along with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the work permit requirement.

The position will be filled provided that it is not claimed by surplus staff.
